The EVIDENT project coordinator, Professor Stephan Günther of the Bernhard-Nocht-Institute for Tropical Medicine has brought together a multi-national team of experts from eleven partner institutions. All laboratory partners of EVIDENT are either partners of the EMLab consortium, which performs EVD diagnostics in affected West African countries since March 2014 and/or have significantly contributed to the establishment and operation of the mobile EMLab units in Guinea, Liberia, and Nigeria and thus, the acquisition of the clinical material from the outbreak. Therefore, the consortium was able to build on preceding achievements and preceding EU project outputs to deliver both scientific excellence with economic and societal impact.
